For the first day of our Fes desert tour, we will come to pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your accommodation in Fez. You will be free to rest or explore the city however you like.

Day 2 –   Fes tour

The city of Fes is considered a protected UNESCO world heritage site, for it still preserves its authenticity from the impact of the French colonization, therefore we will make sure that you’ll get to visit all of the most important monuments here. Starting with the University of Al Qaraouiyin, the oldest university in the world, which is a stunning masterpiece of Moroccan architecture and design. There’s also the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, the Chouara leather tanneries, the Jewish district also called Mellah, and the artisanal tiles workshops. After our guided tour will reach its end, you’ll be free to spend your remaining time in Fes doing whatever activity you want. Finally, you’ll be provided with dinner and overnight accommodation in a traditional Riad or hotel.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

Leaving the beautiful Fes, we will start our Fes desert tour towards the Sahara desert and Merzouga. We will drive by the town of Ifrane and the cedar forests at Azrou, where we might see some wild macaque monkeys. You will get the chance to take some pictures of the breathtaking beauty of Morocco. Then we will stop by the town of Midelt to have lunch while enjoying the views of the Moulouya River.

Back on the road, we will drive through another high mountain pass called Tizin Talremt, leading us to the breathtaking Ziz Valley. This valley is famous for its impressive groves of palm trees and beautiful greenery. We will arrive at Erfoud, also known as the capital of fossils, then you can try a delicacy called the Berber pizza in Rissani. Finally, we will arrive at Merzouga, where we will spend the night in a hotel surrounded by desert dunes.

Day 4: Merzouga desert 4×4 tour in Erg Chebbi + camel trekking

Today we will have breakfast and then leave for our desert explorations, which will include visiting the oases of Merzouga, discovering the traditional Khamlia village known for its indigenous Gnaoua Music, and spending some time with the Berber nomadic families at the desert plateau. We will head back to the hotel to have lunch and prepare for our camel trekking ride through the dunes. You will begin the trek as you will get to ride on the back of a camel, enjoying the breathtaking sunset over the desert dunes.

After about an hour and a half ride, the camels will take you to the desert camp where you will enjoy dinner in a relaxing Sahara atmosphere. Seize this opportunity to stargaze in the clear desert night sky, then you can go to bed in your personal tent.

Day 5: Merzouga desert – Todra Gorges – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate:

We will wake you up early in order to watch the sunrise over the desert dunes, after which we will ride on the back camels to go back to Merzouga. Back at the hotel, you will have breakfast and get the chance to shower before we leave for our next destination. Our next destination will be the city of Ouarzazate, which we will reach after driving through the high Atlas Mountains, passing by many villages such as Tinjdad and Tinghir. Along the way, we will meet the impressive Todra gorges that attract climbers worldwide and the beautiful Dades valley. Finally, we will reach Ouarzazate where we will spend the night.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Today on our Fes desert tour we will leave the city of Ouarzazate to head towards Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. So after a quick visit to the Kasbah village of Ait Ben Haddou, we will be on our way, driving by the famous mountain pass of Tizin Tichka (2260 meters high).
