Marrakech to the Sahara 7 days tour

Day1: Airport – Marrakech

Our 7 days Marrakech to the Sahara tour starts after we will pick you up from the airport at Marrakech and drop you off at the Riad where you will be staying in the old Medina.

Day2 : Marrakech – Atlas – Draa valley – Zagora

Today on our 7 days Marrakech to the Sahara tour we will begin driving through the high Atlas Mountains, by the famous Tizin Tichka pass, until we reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO world heritage site). After that, we will continue driving along the Draa valley, until we reach the city of Zagora, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Zagora – Road of Rally Dakar – Ramlia

After having breakfast, the real fun can begin! We will be driving through the tracks that were used in the Paris Dakar rally. Along the way, we will meet many small Berber villages near the Moroccan-Algerian border. At this point, you will grasp the real calm atmosphere in the desert. Finally, we will reach the traditional small village of Khamlia, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Ozina – Khamlia – Merzouga – night in the tent in the middle of the desert

Driving along the desert tracks, we will start driving on our 7 days from Marrakech to the Sahara tour towards Merzouga. On our way there, we will stop at the village of Khamlia and discover its indigenous Gnaoua music with locals while enjoying a cup of traditional mint tea. Once we reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi, we will switch from 4×4 vehicles in order to get to ride actual camels. The camels are going to take us to the camp where you will watch a truly magical desert sunset. You will have dinner and spend the night in the camp, in a traditional tent.

Day 5: : Merzouga – Tinghir – Todra gorges – Dades gorges

After waking up in time to catch the desert sunrise, we will return to a hotel in Merzouga riding the back of camels again. At the hotel, you will get the chance to shower and have breakfast, before leaving Merzouga behind. Then we will visit one of the local fossil workshops at Erfoud, before driving by the impressive palm groves of Tinghir. After that we will head to the gorges of Todra: these rock formations are narrow and as high as 300 meters, attracting climbers from all over the world. We will have a delicious lunch at Todra, after which we will head to the Dades valley to discover its gorges. Finally on this day of the 7 days Marrakech to the Sahara tour, we will have dinner and spend the night at a local hotel.

Day 6: Dades Gorges- Skoura – Marrakech

After a few last moments at the Dades gorges, we will head back to Marrakech. On our way there, we will drive by the Dades valley, klaat Mgouna, the valley of roses, and then the road of the thousand Kasbahs. Finally, we will cross the Tizin Tichka mountain pass (High Atlas Mountains) before arriving in Marrakech and spending the night at a traditional Riad.

Day 7: Marrakech – Back home

today we will explore the busiest and biggest square in Africa, the Jamaa El Fna square. This site, situated at the extremity of the old Medina, is considered a UNESCO cultural heritage.
