You travel from Fes to Marrakech through Morocco’s most intense contrast route. You move from mountain cedar forests to Sahara dunes, then through canyon valleys and desert kasbahs into the High Atlas. The route packs long drives, fast scenery changes, and key highlights into four days. You get desert life, historic sites, and mountain passes in one continuous journey.

Itineraries

Day 1

Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

You leave Fes early and head south. First stop in Ifrane, then Azrou cedar forest where you see wild monkeys. You cross the Middle Atlas and reach Midelt for lunch. The road continues through Ziz Valley with palm groves and desert views. You pass Erfoud, known for fossils. By late afternoon, you reach Merzouga. You switch to camels and enter the Erg Chebbi dunes. Sunset in the Sahara. Dinner and overnight in desert camp.

Day 2

Merzouga

You start with sunrise over the dunes. You explore Khamlia village and its Gnawa music culture. You visit nomad families and see desert living conditions. Free time in the afternoon for rest or sand activities. Second night near or in the desert area.

Day 3

Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

You leave the desert and pass through Rissani, a traditional market town. You reach Todra Gorges and walk between high canyon walls. After lunch, you continue to Dades Valley with stops for photo viewpoints. Overnight in a hotel or riad in the valley.

Day 4

Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

You drive through Roses Valley and Skoura palm oasis. You reach Ouarzazate and visit film studios. You continue to Ait Ben Haddou and walk through the ksar. After that, you cross Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas. You arrive in Marrakech in the evening. End of tour.
